Audrey, her hand in Leon's, gestured to a table beside the window. The pitter-patter of rain always calmed her down in sticky situations. Her and Leon sat down opposite each other and she again laced her fingers with his. "Where did you go earlier. I was kind of," she paused, "Worried."

Leon loved Audrey playing with his fingers. He got butterflys in his stomach when he asked her that question. He paused "I..needed to think.. I was sitting in the old alley..." He had gotten very quiet. He wasn't ashamed, but just a little anxious. He looked at the table, still holding Audreys hand.

Audrey glanced out the window, staring at the cars that drove by. She let go of Leon's hands and put her feet up on the cafe seat. She took her black jacket off and threw it on the windowsill. Stretching the beads of the bracelet on her left arm, she smiled nervously at Leon. She didn't know why she was nervous, but she was. Just all of a sudden. She turned to face the window again.

Leon watched Audrey's every movement. "Are you..ok?" He said quietly. Just then the waitress came over to their table. She wore the most awful clothes in the world. Tracksuit bottoms, pink playboy tank top and Nike Air trainers. She spoke with a Belfast accent "Wot wood yas leek?" She said. Leon looked at the girl and tried not to laugh "Excuse me?" He said, with a sarcastic tone. He could see that the girl was annoyed so he took the smile off his face. "I wood leek ah frapochino fanx" He said, mimiking the girl. "'Bout yoo Auds?" He said, turning to Audrey.

Audrey knew if she looked at the waitress she would laugh so she turned to Leon and said, 'Double latte, thanks,' Smiling, she touched Leon's hand again. He was probably sick of her doing this but now but it made her feel safe.

Leon smiled as Audrey touched his hand. Her hands were so smooth, he loved her just playing with his hands. "Go on, you've been told what to get." He told the waitress, then turning back to Audrey. "So, how do you like the hotel?" He asked.

Audrey blinked and slowly tilted her head up to look at Leon. "The hostel is my home now, so I guess I like it. It's nice to live with your friends," she said quietly. She didn't know what was going on with her. She felt dead and alive at the same time. "What about you?" she inquired as Leon shooed the waitress.

Yeah, its pretty cool. This town is nice too, better than where I used to live.. He rememberd when he last saw his mother, shudderd and then turned to look as if nothing had happend There are some cool people here! Leon smiled at Audrey, he blatently said it to give her a compliment. The waitress came back and slammed the coffees down on the table and stormed off. Whats her problem!? Leon just laughed. He liked controlling most people.

Audrey shrugged. "I prefer the town I used to live in. It was okay. My house was awesome. All big and Gothic. But when..." she paused. "But when my mother..left, I didn't like the house. I felt trapped in it which is ridiculous. Sorry, I'm rambling." Audrey didn't like talking about herself much so she just smiled, looking out the window.

Leon looked at Audrey, he wanted to know things about her. Its alright, your not rambeling. I'm sure I have a more horrific story than you do... He paused. Then put on a soft, understanding look. He let one hand go of Audreys and took a sip of his coffee. Ahh. I needed that

"Well," she said, looking at Leon, "How can you be sure of that?" She gave a look she hoped was mysterious and sipped at her double latte.

I'll tell you, I'm probably going to end up telling you any way.. Leon took a deep breath Well.. when I was 14 I found out that the man I had been calling dad all my life, wasn't my real dad. I didn't go commit suicide like most freaks do these days, I got closer to him! He was a really nice man, really supportive, anyway Leon became more confident talking to Audrey, he continued Life was good up untill..one day this guy called me on my 18th, he said he was my real father, told me things about me and things about my mother. I stuipidly beleived him... So, I agreed to meet up with him in a bar. Leon was playing the moments back in his head and he got slower and slower. Any way. He didn't show and I walked back home. A guy came up behind me...my mum in handcuffs.. held us hostage for 6 days... haven't seen my mother or my step dad..since... Ran away from the town, never told any one and now I'm sitting here with you... A tear rolled down Leon's cheek, it was the first time he had cried since he was 10 and he fell out of a tree. He felt so upset that he was actually telling his story, the story he was led to beleive wasn't true. Leon looked down, he felt stupid for crying infront of Audrey.

Audrey got up from her seat and went to sit in Leon's with him. Hugging him in a motherly way. She didn't say anything, she didn't think she had to. Actions were enough in this case. She held on to him tightly as she thought of her own past. Was she ready to tell someone? She kept on hugging Leon, not for his sake but for hers. "Everyone has dark pasts here," she whispered.

Leon put his arms around Audrey and held her tight. Did her really care? He wiped away his tears I know.. There is just something about this place. He told her. Leon was pretty sure he had lost most of his dignity in the café and the p!ssed off waitress was laughing at him. He didn't care. He put his hand on the back of Audreys head and kissed her. Leon wasn't too sure why he did. He felt pretty close to her now. He had put his hand through her hand then brought one forwards and touched her cheek, then touched her lips with his. He was so nervous he stopped incase she felt uncomfortable. He then hugged her and waited for her to say something.

Audrey continued playing with Leon's hand until he kissed her. What she didn't understand is why he stopped. She looked into his eyes and kissed him back. She smiled in the kiss and pulled away, still smiling.
