Personality: Aiden is a real sweetheart, he is a very accepting person and he always chooses to embrace his friends flaws rather than trying to fix them. He likes to be physically close to people. An arm around the waist or a kiss on the cheek is only standard if you're his friend. Aiden tends to be eccentric and rather strange at times and he loves strange jokes and ghost stories and sentences that don't make sense. He always has a smile for someone who needs it and he isn't afraid to be himself. He doesn't care what other people think of him. He spent to long worrying about that in the past. Althought, he does worry about what his friends think and he can be very paranoid about them not liking him. He's got quite a creative mind, he thinks outside the box.
Aiden can be violent and tends to harbour ill feelings rather than get them out in the open and talk about it, he may pretend he's let something go but he usually hasn't and if an argument insues he'll bring it up and make you feel bad about it. He might forgive but he won't forget, he's not that sort of person. But unless you do something to him he's not likely to pick a fight with you, it's not his style, he doesn't like making the first move in fights.
Aiden is interesting and fun, he's always up for a laugh, he doesn't like sitting around doing nothing all day, unless he's with someone he cares about or one of his really close friends. He won't open up to you if he doesn't know you well but if you're one of his best friends he'll tell you EVERYTHING. He is outspoken and opinionated but he's a real joker and tends to not let his feelings be VERY obvious. Past: Born on the fourteenth of January at 3AM in the back of his dads pick up truck where he was conceived, Aiden got off to an uneasy start, he was eight weeks premature and delivered by his aunt who didn’t know what she was doing. His parents were just about dating. Sally, Aiden’s mother, was a hooker whose best client, Bruce, knocked her up. Bruce and Sally started to go out as soon as Sally found out she was pregnant. A nasty argument in the early hours of the fourteenth of January about Sally’s drug use had forced her to run from the house and drive off in Bruce’s pick up. Her waters broke when she was on the phone to her sister, Georgia, who was nearby and rushed to help deliver Sally’s premature baby. Sally went back to Bruce three weeks later with little Aiden.
Bruce did not greet Sally or Aiden with joy; instead disdain would be the correct word. He refused to even look at Aiden for the first three days and hit Sally on numerous occasions because of her nagging. When at last Bruce did look at Aiden he only noted that he was abnormally small, rather than his huge bright eyes and his adorable toothless smile. Bruce never addressed Aiden by his real name but instead with, “Shrimp”, “Looser”, “Faggot” and “Pansy”. When Aiden was four he was convinced his name was Pansy. At this time, Sally was being forced by Bruce to quit drugs. They didn’t have money for rehab and after a month of withdrawals Sally bought and got high. Bruce beat her to death in front of Aiden who screamed and cried the whole time.
A neighbour rand the police and after a year of trials, Bruce was sentenced to twenty-five to life. Aiden was then given to be cared for by his Uncle John who was Bruce’s brother. John seemed like the perfect guardian; no criminal record, a stable home, a loving wife, totally clean, good job and he only drank alcohol in moderation on special occasions. But that wasn’t what he was really like. Everything was fine until Aiden turned eight, which was when his aunt left John for another man. John was furious and turned to alcohol, he took out his rage on Aiden. Aiden was beaten, bruised, scared and confused. He was quiet in school; the teachers and other students just assumed he was shy when really it was the threat, “you tell anyone. Anyone at all and you’ll end up like your mom. Dead.” That was making him so quiet.
Just when Aiden thought things couldn’t get any worse for him, John stopped hitting him as much, he started to get high which made him very violent, he would throw things at Aiden instead. Each time he did hit Aiden he would sneak into Aiden’s room at night with a knife and hold it to his throat and he’d touch Aiden and put small cuts all down his neck, after he’d promise that if Aiden ever did anything to make John look like an abuser, an alcoholic or a junkie, John would slit his throat and throw him in a river, “like Bruce should have with that whore, your mother, rather than waiting for the cops.” Aiden suffered in silence until he was thirteen, which was when he met his first boyfriend, Kyle. Kyle gave Aiden the confidence to stand up for himself. Aiden told John to leave him alone, and to stop threatening him and because of this they got into a fight. John threw Aiden to the floor and began kicking him relentlessly.
Aiden broke a rib in the scuffle and it just made him angrier with John. He began to come home and pick a fight on purpose; he sustained many injuries because of it, such as numerous black eyes, a few broken ribs, a sprained wrist and a lot of bruises to the stomach. He worst he ever managed to inflict on John was a broken nose. Aiden was violent and angry and it was showing, he would have random violent outbursts during school, he’d start shouting and throwing things and pushing things. He made the school counsellors worried about him and he soon found himself in the counsellor’s office being talked to by the school shrink. He didn’t like them bombarding him with questions, he spent most of the sessions staring at the floor or glaring at the counsellor. He’d become rather intimidating; he was “that angry gay” to most people now. Kyle was among the only people unafraid of him. They saw him as he was: scared; lonely; angry; violent; sad and hurt.
When Aiden was fourteen, he broke up with Kyle. He was upset and alone and that was when his mom’s parents contacted him. He was rather taken a back because he’d assumed they were dead or something, but it turned out that they weren’t and they wanted him to come and stay with them for a few month so they could get to know him. He left his abusive uncle and entered the world of a loving family. He felt right at home with his grandparents who still had pictures of his mom around the house. Aiden couldn’t remember his mother’s face so seeing the pictures made him feel like he knew her. His grandparents rang John and asked him to let them have custody of Aiden but John angrily announced that that wouldn’t happen unless they got custody. He was about to be taken back to John when his grandma told him that if he really wanted he could run for it and get away from John and that one day he could come back to his real family – at home with his grandparents. So that’s what he did.
